Dr Rashid Mohamed Al-Kiyumi is the Director General of Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Oman and has assumed the role since 2009. He is responsible for the planning, supervision and follow-up work assigned to the directorate including but not limited to ship registration, PSC, seafarer’s certification, maritime legislations, and relations with IMO.

Prior to the current designation, Dr Rashid has worked in the Civil Aviation Authority in Oman, last holding the position of Assistant Director General of Civil Aviation & Meteorology for Civil Aviation Affairs.

Dr Rashid received his Doctorate in private law from Tanger University in Morocco. He also has a Master of Science in Air Transport Management from the College of Aeronautics, Cranfield University, UK.
