If I have a visitor ticket, can I attend the conference agenda?

You can visit the exhibition at SOMWME for free with a visitor ticket, but you can only join the conference agenda if you hold a conference pass.  We will be announcing rates for conference passes soon.

Can I apply to be a speaker at SOMWME 2019?

If you are interested in speaking at SOMWME 2019, please do get in touch with our conference team.

Who should attend SOMWME?

You! Quite simply, the ethos behind SOMWME is to provide a place for those involved in the offshore marine vessel and workboat industry to convene, connect and create profitable partnerships over the course of two exciting days.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for vessel owners to meet with the suppliers and ports who provide support to these offshore marine vessels, while the conference agenda hosts the offshore marine industry’s most critical conversations.

What’s new for SOMWME 2019?

We’re as committed as ever to delivering an event deserving of the offshore marine industry – which means we’ve made a number of changes to ensure SOMWME continues to fit that brief.

  • Location: For the first time in the event’s history, SOMWME will take place in Dubai at Madinat Jumeirah. If you have previously attended, please ensure you are familiar with the new location and venue information.
  • Conference: The conference agenda has been completely revamped and will have more prominence at SOMWME.
  • UAE Maritime Week: SOMWME 2019 is a part of UAE Maritime Week 2019 - the most dominant meeting point for those seeking Maritime business within the UAE.
What does SOMWME stand for?

SOMWME is the acronym for Seatrade Offshore Marine and Workboats Middle East, which is the title of the event.  You may see us refer to the event in either manner.

What are my options for attending SOMWME 2019?

You can attend SOMWME 2019 with either a visitor ticket or a conference pass.

The main difference is that an exhibition visitor can access only the show floor and is free-of-charge. A conference pass gives you access to all areas of the show, including the conference agenda, but has a cost associated with it.

Registration will open shortly, but you can register your interest for SOMWME 2019.

SOMWME 2019 is part of UAE Maritime Week. What does this mean?

UAE Maritime Week is a celebration and showcase of the power of the UAE Maritime Market. The week is made up of a cluster of world-class maritime events, including:

UAE Maritime Week takes place from 22 – 26 September and is a fantastic opportunity to join the regional maritime network.

Can I register for SOMWME 2019 onsite?

Yes, you can register on the day at the event. However, we strongly recommend registering advance.  If you’re not on our systems and don’t have a badge or e-invite, you may have to queue and your entry to the show will be delayed.

Is there a discounted hotel rate for event attendees and exhibitors?

We will shortly be announcing information regarding hotel rates for event attendees.

How can I apply for a visa to enter Dubai?

If you need to apply for a visa, you can find more information on the Visit Dubai Tourism website. If you require a letter of invitation, please contact the SOMWME team.

When and where is Seatrade Offshore Marine and Workboats Middle East 2019?

This year’s Seatrade Offshore Marine and Workboats Middle East will take place from 23 – 24 September 2019. The event will be held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

What is the best way to access the venue for SOMWME 2019?

If you are not staying onsite or have use of a car, we would highly recommend booking a taxi when travelling to Madinat Jumeirah for SOMWME 2019.  Taxis are also readily available in Dubai and a safe way to get around the emirate. 

The closest metro station is The Mall of the Emirates Station, which is the 32nd station on the red line. From here, you would need to take a taxi for the remainder of your journey.
