Gwynne Lewis is a naval architect by training, a graduate from Southampton University’s Ship Science course. He has broad experience in mathematical modelling, analytics, finance, planning and business operations.
Gwynne started his career within the Shipping Industry developing mathematical modelling technicques and real time simulation models. He then worked for IBM in a variety of roles including that of Business Analyst and Finance and Planning Manager; leaving IBM to join BMT SeaTech a small start up Naval Architecture consultancy firm. At BMT SeaTech he facilitated the development of a number of software-based tools for the simulation of vessel responses and analysis of hull stress and performance monitoring data becoming Managing Director, a position he held for 4 years. In 2009 Gwynne re-joined Lloyd’s Register and lead their Marine Product Development functiuon, becoming Global Head of Marine Consultancy in 2013 and Head of Data, Digital and Software in July 2016.
Gwynne is a Non Executive Director of LR Martec (a consultancy business in Canada) and of LR GMT Ltd (a fuel testing and analysis business based in the UK but with representatives worldwide).
