International Maritime Industries is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, Lamprell, Bahri and Hyundai Heavy Industries. Four industry leaders have come together to build a world-class maritime facility offering quality, efficiency, and economies-of-scale. Each partner has brought hands-on experience as either a customer or operator to ensure IMI redefines the maritime industry with its integrated facility and contained localized supply chain ecosystem. IMI is located in The King Salman Complex for International Maritime Industries & Services at Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. It will be the largest, full service maritime facility in MENA. The scale of IMI ensures customers will have all their maritime needs met in one facility, on time, and to specification. It will host:

The largest ship lift in MENA with lifting capabilities of 31,200 tons

The largest combined lift capability over a drydock in MENA of 2,150 tons

The region’s largest quayside of 9,000 meters

The annual capacity of the facility is 4 new build offshore rigs and over 43 new build vessels including VLCCs, in addition to servicing more than 260 maritime products. The first phase of  production operations is expected to commence toward the end of 2020 with the facility reaching its full production capacity by 2022.

Saudi Global Ports Co (SGPC) is the second container terminal in King Abdulaziz Seaport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

SGPC started its commercial operations on the 23rd of April, 2015 as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia and the Singapore based port and terminal operator, PSA International.

In terms of infrastructure, SGPC is equipped with six of the latest Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes capable of handling 24 rows of containers across the vessel’s beam, and a berth depth of 16m (the deepest in the Eastern
Region). SGPC is the only container terminal in the Region that is capable of handling the largest container vessels such as the COSCO SHIPPING SOLAR and COSCO SHIPPING PLANET, each capable of carrying up to 23,100 TEUs of containers.

For exporters and importers, SGPC offers the best-in-class cold storage facilities with a -18°C environment for sensitive cargos. The terminal is also built with a railway track of 1.5km, thus improving the railway turnaround time for shipment between Dammam and Riyadh.
