Captain Al Ali started his career with NGSCO in 1996 as deck cadet and made his way through the ranks until he sailed as first UAE National Master on LNG carrier in 2008. Later in 2009 he joined the head office of ADNATCO-NGSCO to serve as Operations Manager, Tanker Fleet Manager and in 2013 was appointed Senior Vice President of Operations supervising the Operations of all LNG, Tanker and Dry Bulk Fleets as well as Marine personnel.
In 2017, following the merger of ESNAAD, IRSHAD and ADNATCO, he assumed the role of Senior Vice President Shipping at ADNOC Logistics & Services to supervise the operations of all Shipping Fleet.
Captain Al Ali has been actively involved in sponsoring the energy efficiency project and maintenance optimization projects , achieving Energy Management Standard ISO 50001 and Asset Management Standard 55001. He supported the takeover of 16 new deliveries in 2011. Capt Al Ali has lead his team into achieving various Maritime awards including ADNOC HSE, Dubai Sustainability, Maritime Standard and Sea Trade awards.
He holds an Executive Master Degree in Business Administration from Zayed University and BSc degree in Maritime Business and Management from John Moores University in Liverpool.
Capt. Rado Antolovic, PhD, CEO & Managing Director of the DP World Maritime Services Division
Capt. Rado Antolovic has over three decades of experience across leading port and maritime industries. In his previous roles as CEO of JSC NCSP and a number of senior positions with DP World, P&O Ports, APL and his seagoing experience with MOL, he successfully set-up, restructured and managed numerous ports and marine businesses in many international locations.
As CEO of P&O Maritime he has been at the forefront of the company’s successful turn over and fast global expansion. As the CEO and MD – Maritime Services Division, his task is to efficiently consolidate all DP World group maritime business and to provide a strong platform for long term growth.
Capt. Rado holds a PhD and MBA in transport and economics.
Nabil Ben Soussia is responsible for strategic vision and management of the maritime vertical at the IEC Telecom group of companies. Earned international recognition in the area of marinecomms: Thuraya - Best Performance Maritime Sales Partner 2014 & 2018.
Joined the group in 2008. Since 2013 acted as Managing Director at IEC Telecom Middle East and Kazakhstan. In 2019 Nabil has been appointed as Vice President – Maritime.
Dr John Calleya worked as a Submarine Naval Architect in a UK shipyard while completing a Naval Architecture Master's at University College London (UCL).
After completing a PhD at UCL in designing ships for lower greenhouse gas emissions, John secured further research funding to develop a holistic ship energy model, leading the engineering effort in a techno-economic shipping sector model, including working in a consultancy role with leading shipping companies and leading the RINA delegation to IMO MEPC meetings.
John worked at a ship performance monitoring company, before joining the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2018. John is responsible for administering the IMO Data Collection System, the EEDI database and is an IMO expert for matters related to air pollution.
Victoria leads marketing, and new business development for NCS. Interested in understanding client needs and applying the product in unique applications, Victoria focuses on developing new client collaboration efforts.
Before NCS, Victoria held key roles as Marketing Communications Manager for Schlumberger Artificial Lift, and Marketing Manager to a new artificial lift technology project development managed through Shell Technology Ventures (STV), which showcases her pedigree in upstream oil and gas.
Simon Doran was appointed Managing Director of HullWiper Limited in October 2012, driving the revolutionary new HullWiper project offering clean underwater hull cleaning solutions.
As a former UK Royal Navy diver with nearly 20 years’ experience, he was responsible for Royal Navy Clearance Diver/Bomb Disposal and Saturation Diving. Simon joined the corporate world in 1998 and has since held frontline operational and management positions in the subsea sector.
Before joining the GAC Group, he served as General Manager – Middle Eastern Division for UMC International Plc, spearheading business expansion and developing government contracts.
A keen road cyclist and kayaker, Simon lives in Dubai, UAE, with his wife and Cat, with four children gone in the wind!

Formerly Deputy Editor of Lloyd’s List, Craig started his career at sea serving as a navigation officer for 10 years, working on a range of vessel types, though mostly oil tankers and gas carriers. During this time he also went to university, trained and subsequently worked as a BBC broadcast journalist and news reader in the UK.
He currently resides in Sweden.
Steve is General Manager at SEA\LNG. Before taking up his position at SEA\LNG Steve was Head of Energy at Xyntéo. He began his career as a Geophysicist in BP, subsequently working in a variety of business development, strategy and analysis roles in the company’s gas, power & renewables and energy trading businesses.
Steve has also worked in the City of London, for a commodity futures market, leading the development of financial instruments for the energy sector and for management consultants Pöyry Energy and Caminus Energy, where he specialised in providing advice on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS); gas and power market policy; and commodity trading and risk management.
Currently CEO of Synergy Offshore, a Dubai based energy consultancy firm, Fazel was previously the CEO of Topaz Energy and Marine. Fazel has more than 30 years of experience in the Oil Field Services, Marine and the Energy sectors in multicultural and dynamic organizations and has recently been appointed as a Senior Advisor to Douglas Westwood/Westwood Energy Group for the Middle East. He has a proven track record of leadership and entrepreneurial growth, with a “hands-on” approach to team building and operations that spanned the Middle East, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Brazil and West Africa. His significant exposure to M&A, turnarounds, business restructures, start-ups and the development of new markets in frontier territories allows him to provide a high caliber consultancy service to both trade and the financial sector that needs an in-depth industry perspective.
Capt. Fekry is a Master Mariner and has nearly 42 years of experience. Currently the Managing Director of MC Ship Management – Dubai, he has also been Chief Executive Officer and a Member of The Board of Directors of Red Sea Marine.
Prior to that, Gamal was Manager, Vetting and Clearance at British Petroleum Shipping in London. He served with BP for 11 years during which he was the Regional Manager for Marine Assurance (Middle East) and seconded to The Supreme Petroleum Council of Abu Dhabi, and has served with KOTC for 24 years from cadet to a fleet Manager of LPG & Products fleet.
Capt. Fekry has gained extensive practical shipboard, shore-based management and operational experience which enabled him to make a significant contribution to the shipping industry. He was awarded in 2015 the Golden Global Helm of Excellence for Middle East in Asset Integrity Management by the International Maritime Club (IMC). In 2018 he was awarded a Lifetime achievement Award for his contribution to the industry.

Peter Fitzpatrick is Vice President, Strategic Development where he is responsible for guiding and supporting ABS' and ABS Group’s strategic activities and corporate growth globally. Previously, he served as Vice President, Global Business Development and Global Marine market sector for ABS.
Prior to joining ABS, Mr. Fitzpatrick was Vice President Ship Design and Construction for BG Group where he was responsible for the technical operations of the company’s LNG vessel acquisition programs. Fitzpatrick has worked in a number of gas shipping-related roles throughout his career and has a Bachelor of Engineering in Ship Science from Southampton University.
Mr. Fitzpatrick holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Southampton.
David is a dual-qualified lawyer in Malta and England & Wales and specialises in advising domestic and international clients on transactions in the shipping, aviation and oil & gas sectors. He brings a wealth of international experience and industry knowledge to his clients, having previously spent 11 years in private practice in Malta and London, as well as four years as head of legal at a major shipyard in the Middle East.
David advises clients worldwide on contracts, finance, leasing, and other corporate/commercial issues relating to assets that float or fly. He was twice nominated for General Counsel of the Year in regional awards.
Päivi is currently working for DIMECC Ltd, heading One Sea – Autonomous Maritime Ecosystem. Päivi has a long history of working with the management of marine related companies. She started her career in the nineties consulting and meeting marine customers around the world. Since then she has worked with various strategic development projects in the pulp & paper and telecommunications industries apart from her many assignments in the marine industries. She has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on various topics and has participated in international maritime awards panels.
Päivi has held several administrative positions in the past and worked both at shipyards and suppliers to the marine industry. Among other positions, she has previously worked as Head of R&D, Marketing Director and Administrative Manager, she has also acted as a Board Member. Päivi holds a Master’s Degree in Economics (Business Administration) and Naval Architecture
Frank Harteveld is General Manager Strategic Business Development within Wärtsilä Gas Solutions.

Frank graduated as Bsc in 1987 from The Hague Technical High School, having an Electrical Energy background and has been in Wärtsilä Corporation since 2012.
Sergey is an Executive Director as well as a co-partner at MABUX: consultancy and information provider for global bunker industry with HQ in Sweden. He began his career as a Sinologist graduated from Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages and from Shandong University in P.R.China.
Before taking up his positon at MABUX Sergey headed Far Eastern Branches of Companies from Republic of Korea and Sweden and was a co-founder and a Member of the Board of Istok Group Companies engaged in fishing, marine transportation (own fleet) and pharmacy business in the Far-East.
He currently resides in Sweden.
Captain Amarjit Singh Kauchhur joined IRI in February 2009 as Regional Manager and opened the Dubai office on 1 April 2009. Captain Kauchhur joined the Shipping Corporation of India as a deck cadet in 1975 and was promoted to chief officer in 1987, sailing on tankers, bulkers, container, and general cargo ships. He then moved to Barber Ship Management as a chief officer and was promoted to Master in 1990 while sailing VLCCs and then to Safety Officer in 1998. When Barber Ship Management was acquired by Dubai-based International Tanker Management in 1999, Captain Kauchhur was named Manager of Quality Assurance. He was educated at India’s Air Force Central School, attended college in Jalandar, Punjab, and has completed numerous maritime courses.

As a Master Mariner, a former ABB Marine & Ports Head of Design House and a member of ABS and Lloyd’s Register technical committees, Eero Lehtovaara has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges new regulations, technologies and staffing models pose for maritime stakeholders. Focusing on the relationship between technological advance and regulation, Eero has gained specific insights into the significance of digitalization, ‘smart’ ship management and autonomous ship operations.
Eero is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute and is ABB’s delegate at the Global Environment Facility-United Nations Development Program-International Maritime Organization alliance. He is a board member of DIMECC, which provides governance for the One Sea Alliance and chairs the CIMAC working group on azimuthing propulsion standards.
Pradeep is a senior tech/management professional with global experience- having worked & consulted for some of the world’s best-known companies. His domain areas are technology for Oil & Gas, Shipping, Logistics, Ports and Free-zones.
Currently he is Senior Partner at Saiber Innovation Technologies, a start-up based in Dubai. Prior Pradeep managed DP World Global IT followed by MEA for 13+ years, overseeing solutioning of a myriad of new and brownfield Ports projects.
In past, he held senior technology roles with likes of Fletcher Energy (now Shell), Maersk Oil, Maersk Line, Pacific First, Unocal, Talisman Energy & Brunel Energy.
With expertise in ERP, Business Intelligence, AI ,ML & deep interest in Maritime focused cyber-security, Pradeep is eagerly looking forward to participating at Ship Tech 2019.
Patrick Murphy is a partner, based in the Dubai office, specialising in shipping and commodity trading disputes and general international commercial arbitration and litigation.
Patrick has extensive experience of litigating and arbitrating in the UAE courts, Dubai arbitrations and international arbitrations under DIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICC and LMAA rules in respect of commercial agency, telecoms, oil and gas, commodities and investment disputes. Patrick regularly advises shipowners, charterers and traders in a wide range of charterparty, sale of goods and commodity disputes. He is a regular presenter at events concerning shipping law, including lecturing on laytime and demurrage matters. He also advises international traders and businesses in respect of the application of sanctions regimes against Iran and the implications for their continued operation.
Vibhu works as Global Business Developer with Alfa Laval. He is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Calicut University, India and has thereafter completed his Post Graduate Pre-Sea Marine Engineering training from Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Mumbai.
He started his career as a Marine engineer on Chemical Tankers with Shipping Corporation of India. He has also sailed on Crude oil tankers and Bulk Carriers before moving ashore in 2013. He has been with Alfa Laval since then and has worked with the after market as well as capital sales department for Marine and Diesel Power Industry in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh region before moving to Singapore in a Global role.
In his current role he is responsible for Business development of 2020 Boiler compliance solutions in Asia, Africa and Australia regions.
Guy was appointed Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) in August 2018. The ICS membership comprises national shipowners' associations in Asia, Europe and the Americas whose member shipping companies operate over 80% of the world's merchant tonnage. The ICS represents and promotes the views and interests of its members at a variety of fora including the International Maritime Organisation, International labour Organisation and many others.
Guy has extensive experience in the maritime industry both at sea and ashore over the last 35 years and is a qualified Master Mariner. He has held a number of operational and management positions including most recently CEO of the UK Chamber of Shipping and CEO of Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (a ferry and port owning company).
Esben Poulsson is Chairman of The International Chamber of Shipping, the London based Association whose membership comprises approximately 80% of the world fleet.
Mr. Poulsson is also Executive Chairman of ENESEL PTE. LTD., a Singapore based ship owning entity, of a fleet of large container vessels all under the Singapore Flag. He has worked in the maritime industry for over 45 years and has held a variety of senior management positions in Hong Kong, London, Copenhagen and Singapore.
Aside from his Chairmanship of Enesel Pte. Ltd., he is a Non-Executive Director of X-Press Feeders Ltd., Hafnia Tankers Pte. Ltd., Nordic Shipholding A/S, Batchfire Resources Pty. Ltd. and Epic Gas Ltd. He is non-executive Chairman of Cambiaso Risso Asia Pte. Ltd. and of Tamar Shipmanagement Ltd. and serves on the Board of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
He is immediate past President of the Singapore Shipping Association and is an Advisory Panel Member of the Singapore Maritime Foundation.
Shahid has over 24 years of professional experience, 17 of which were as a Management Consultant working on multi-sector global technology and transformation projects. Having moved away from Consulting to serve as the Chief Digital Officer at Takaful Emarat Insurance, he is now the Managing Director of MENA for Charles Taylor InsureTech, focussed on partnering with firms operating in the Insurance sector, to exploit digital as a means of disruption, reinvention, transformation and growth.
He is a Marine Engineer who started his career at sea and after sailing as a Chief Engineer joined DNV in 1995 at Bahrain. He started out as a Surveyor and a Lead Auditor for Quality and Safety Management system and later relocated to Singapore. As a Project Manager for Conversions in Singapore he was amongst the pioneers involved in shuttle tanker conversions & LNG Ships life extensions. He subsequently took on the role of Country manager for Indonesia & was actively involved in the Indonesian FSRU’s Projects. After a successful assignment there relocated back to Singapore. He established the Singapore Service Center where, as a Senior Principal Surveyor and Lead Auditor he streamlined customer support & enhanced efficiency by providing a single point of contact for all operational issues.
He relocated to Dubai late last year and took up his present role.
Mr. Ali Shehab Ahmad is the Acting Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Fleet Operations of Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC). He is responsible for KOTC’s Fleet Operations, Marine Agency Branch and the LPG Filling Branches supplying LPG to Kuwait Market. He is an ex-marine Chief Engineer, joining KOTC in 1985 and developed his career to his current position: Acting CEO.
He serves as the Chairman of KOTC’s Risk Operating Committee (ROC) and is responsible for the training and development of the new marine engineers and deck cadets for KOTC and KOC. Alongside this role he is Honorary Chairman of DNV-GL Middle East Technical Committee since 2015 and a fellow member of the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMarEST).
Mr. Skov has worked in the consulting/IT Industry for more than 25 years. His primary focus has been sales of services, business application as well as business development. The last 5 years Thomas has been responsible for Weathernews in EMEA. His responsibility have been sales and business development within the Shipping Industry, Oil & Gas, Aviation as well as Energy. Primary focus of Weathernews services are risk reduction and cost savings as well as finding opportunities for increasing revenue given current or future weather conditions.
Alexandros works as Maritime Cyber Security Consultant of SOFTimpact Ltd. He acts as advisor, guide and all-around security guru.
With more than 8 years of experience in planning, designing and implementing robust security solutions onboard and offshore, he determines the most effective way to protect computers, networks, software, data and information systems against any possible attacks, performing vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments.
With 30 years of a maritime career spent as an engineer, then captain in a wide array of missions, Arnaud Vasquez decided in 2015 to put all of his morivation and experience towards the development of clean and environmentally-friendly marine Fuel Cell technologies.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Youssef, PhD and Master Mariner, has been an industry-advancing asset to the maritime industry for over two decades. Dr. Youssef is currently offering up his expertise as Acting Dean at the College of Maritime Transport and Technology, for the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Sharjah.
Prior to holding his current position, Dr.Youssef leveraged his extensive industry knowledge to serve as the Director of International Forum for Maritime Transport as a specialized Maritime Business Development and Career Development center at the AASTMT from 2011 until 2019. Dr. Youssef also boasts international career experience in locations like the United States of America, where he worked as a Visiting Professor in Marine Transportation at Maine Maritime Academy, EU and Greece where he was emphasizing the Arab Academy and its main role towards the development of maritime education and training.
A passionate maritime professional, Dr.Youssef has actively pursued education as a means of self-development to bolster both, his knowledge, and contributions to the industry. His most recent accomplishment is obtaining a PhD in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
