Mr. Ali Shehab Ahmad is the Acting Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Fleet Operations of Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC). He is responsible for KOTC’s Fleet Operations, Marine Agency Branch and the LPG Filling Branches supplying LPG to Kuwait Market. He is an ex-marine Chief Engineer, joining KOTC in 1985 and developed his career to his current position: Acting CEO.
He serves as the Chairman of KOTC’s Risk Operating Committee (ROC) and is responsible for the training and development of the new marine engineers and deck cadets for KOTC and KOC. Alongside this role he is Honorary Chairman of DNV-GL Middle East Technical Committee since 2015 and a fellow member of the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMarEST).
Nabil Ben Soussia is responsible for strategic vision and management of the maritime vertical at the IEC Telecom group of companies. Earned international recognition in the area of marinecomms: Thuraya - Best Performance Maritime Sales Partner 2014 & 2018.
Joined the group in 2008. Since 2013 acted as Managing Director at IEC Telecom Middle East and Kazakhstan. In 2019 Nabil has been appointed as Vice President – Maritime.
Dr John Calleya worked as a Submarine Naval Architect in a UK shipyard while completing a Naval Architecture Master's at University College London (UCL).
After completing a PhD at UCL in designing ships for lower greenhouse gas emissions, John secured further research funding to develop a holistic ship energy model, leading the engineering effort in a techno-economic shipping sector model, including working in a consultancy role with leading shipping companies and leading the RINA delegation to IMO MEPC meetings.
John worked at a ship performance monitoring company, before joining the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2018. John is responsible for administering the IMO Data Collection System, the EEDI database and is an IMO expert for matters related to air pollution.
Simon Doran was appointed Managing Director of HullWiper Limited in October 2012, driving the revolutionary new HullWiper project offering clean underwater hull cleaning solutions.
As a former UK Royal Navy diver with nearly 20 years’ experience, he was responsible for Royal Navy Clearance Diver/Bomb Disposal and Saturation Diving. Simon joined the corporate world in 1998 and has since held frontline operational and management positions in the subsea sector.
Before joining the GAC Group, he served as General Manager – Middle Eastern Division for UMC International Plc, spearheading business expansion and developing government contracts.
A keen road cyclist and kayaker, Simon lives in Dubai, UAE, with his wife and Cat, with four children gone in the wind!
Steve is General Manager at SEA\LNG. Before taking up his position at SEA\LNG Steve was Head of Energy at Xyntéo. He began his career as a Geophysicist in BP, subsequently working in a variety of business development, strategy and analysis roles in the company’s gas, power & renewables and energy trading businesses.
Steve has also worked in the City of London, for a commodity futures market, leading the development of financial instruments for the energy sector and for management consultants Pöyry Energy and Caminus Energy, where he specialised in providing advice on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS); gas and power market policy; and commodity trading and risk management.
Peter Fitzpatrick is Vice President, Strategic Development where he is responsible for guiding and supporting ABS' and ABS Group’s strategic activities and corporate growth globally. Previously, he served as Vice President, Global Business Development and Global Marine market sector for ABS.
Prior to joining ABS, Mr. Fitzpatrick was Vice President Ship Design and Construction for BG Group where he was responsible for the technical operations of the company’s LNG vessel acquisition programs. Fitzpatrick has worked in a number of gas shipping-related roles throughout his career and has a Bachelor of Engineering in Ship Science from Southampton University.
Mr. Fitzpatrick holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Southampton.
Esben Poulsson is Chairman of The International Chamber of Shipping, the London based Association whose membership comprises approximately 80% of the world fleet.
Mr. Poulsson is also Executive Chairman of ENESEL PTE. LTD., a Singapore based ship owning entity, of a fleet of large container vessels all under the Singapore Flag. He has worked in the maritime industry for over 45 years and has held a variety of senior management positions in Hong Kong, London, Copenhagen and Singapore.
Aside from his Chairmanship of Enesel Pte. Ltd., he is a Non-Executive Director of X-Press Feeders Ltd., Hafnia Tankers Pte. Ltd., Nordic Shipholding A/S, Batchfire Resources Pty. Ltd. and Epic Gas Ltd. He is non-executive Chairman of Cambiaso Risso Asia Pte. Ltd. and of Tamar Shipmanagement Ltd. and serves on the Board of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
He is immediate past President of the Singapore Shipping Association and is an Advisory Panel Member of the Singapore Maritime Foundation.
Alexandros works as Maritime Cyber Security Consultant of SOFTimpact Ltd. He acts as advisor, guide and all-around security guru.
With more than 8 years of experience in planning, designing and implementing robust security solutions onboard and offshore, he determines the most effective way to protect computers, networks, software, data and information systems against any possible attacks, performing vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments.
