Saurabh has recently been appointed as the P&A Director with OCIMF, with a responsibility to manage all internal and external Publications and Advocacy activities, as well as acting as the Chief representative to the IMO.   

He is a UK qualified Master Mariner, with over 25 years of national and international experience in the oil & gas, and across the shipping sector.   He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, a Younger Brother of corporation of Trinity House and additionally holds lead auditor qualifications with an MSc in Maritime Operations and Management gained in the UK.  

Saurabh has joined OCIMF from BP, where he held a series of leadership roles in shipping for nearly a decade. His broad experience includes, leading and managing corporate management systems, strategy, risk, policy, governance of regulatory standards, audits and compliance. He has led advocacy and environmental implementation of new standards and energy transition decision for net-zero as an executive member of energy policy unit in BP and embedded the requirements for the ISO 14k environmental programme within shipping.   

Previously, Saurabh held several maritime industry positions in the UK, as the Secretary General of the British Tugowners Association, Marine manager at the UK Chamber of Shipping and as the Marine technical adviser to the Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB).
