2019 – What a year it was!
From the dynamic smart shipping debate to the excitement of revealing who made the roll of honour, Seatrade Awards 2019 provided the maritime industry with a remarkable evening of networking, fine dining and celebration.
Among those honoured on the night was Lord Mountevans, Chairman, Maritime London & President, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers who lead the roll call at the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award 2019.
Dr. Noura Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer, Maqta Gateway Co and John Platsidakis, Honorary Chairman of INTERCARGO, Director of Angelicoussis Shipping Group Ltd, Managing Director of Maran Dry Management Inc were among those also recognised at Seatrade Awards 2019.
One of the most contentious issues of the decade, thechallenges and opportunities of smart shipping were brought to life during lively and captivating debate ahead of the presentation ceremony.
Chaired by Harry Theochari, Chairman of Maritime UK and Partner – Global Head of Transport at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, the debate touched on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing market. While the potential for increased fuel efficency; more accurate analysis and a more profitable industry was clear, the sentiment of the workforce affected by such changes was never far from the debate.
From maritime technology innovations to green shipping initiatives, the very best of international maritime achievement was celebrated at Seatrade Awards 2019.
Following a rigorous judging process, thirteen awards were announced throughout the evening, with each finalist and winner showcasing the very best of international maritime achievement.
