TOP TIPS FOR A WINNING ENTRY

Working with our prestigious line up of judges who have decades of experience amongst them, we asked them to provide some of their top tips to ensure you compile the best possible entry.

1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT AWARD CATEGORY FOR YOUR COMPANY

Knowing the requirements for each category is the first step. Think about what your main achievements have been and play to your strengths by entering in the most relevant category. Bear in mind that you will need hard, quantifiable results to support your entry, so enter the category that you feel most equipped to put up a fight for.

2. BE CONCISE AND TO THE POINT

Tell the judges about your best and most valuable achievements in a clear & concise way. Be clear in your expression and avoid rambling preambles and verbosity. Succinctness is key.

3. PROVIDE FACTS

It always helps to support all of your claims and achievements with factual information in the form of statistics or results (no attachments are required). Definitely include exact details of what has been achieved and the resources or innovations that were used to achieve them. Quantifying your data with measurable results will have a deeper significance than general, subjective or qualitative data/information.

4. ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES

While giving context to your achievements is important, don’t overload judges with unnecessary details. Strict adherence to the guidelines in each category and the word limits is paramount, as judges will not accept anything beyond the limit.

5. STICK TO THE TIMEFRAME

Please bear in mind that your achievements are time bound, i.e. these have matured or implemented within the past year. It is important to remember that these awards are for the previous 12 months, and achievements prior to that do not fall within the qualification remit.

6. SPELLING AND GRAMMAR

This may sound obvious, but it is impossible to overstate the importance of correct grammar & punctuation. Judges might disqualify an entry simply because it has a lot of spelling mistakes that ensure that it is not clear in its presentation. Your sentence structure, usage of grammatically correct words & staying away from colloquialism may be the difference that sets you apart from the rest.

FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS AND YOU WILL BE ON YOUR WAY TO THE TOP OF THE TOP!
