Asian Shipowners’ Association (ASA)

The Asian Shipowners’ Association (ASA) consists of 8 national shipowners’ association of Australia, China, HongKong, India, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and Federationof ASEAN Shipowners’ Associations comprising of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

 

Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI)

The Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI) is a non-profit organisation formed in 1968 to promote the interests and advancement of the marine and offshore engineering industry in Singapore. ASMI represents companies in the business of ship repair and conversion, shuipbuilding, rig building and offshore engineering.

 

BIMCO

BIMCO is the world’s largest international shipping association, with more than 2,100 members in over 120 countries. Our global membership includes shipowners,operators, managers, brokers and agents. BIMCO’s core services include taking an active role on behalf of shipowners during discussions with global and regional regulators, providing training and offeringinformation and expert advice. BIMCO is also recognised worldwide for the clarity, consistency and certainty of its standard maritime contracts and clauses. We work closelywith industry experts to produce modern and flexible contracts tailored to specific trades and activities.

 

Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS)

As a major provider of education and training, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) sets and examines the syllabus for membership, providing the shipping industry with highly qualified professionals. ICS is the only internationally recognised professional body in the maritime arena and it represents shipbrokers, ship managers, agents, insurance, lawyers, logistics and other shipping professionals throughout the world. Their mission is to promote maritime education in the hope of grooming more young talents to join, work and stay in the shipping industry. With 25 branches in key shipping areas, 4,000 individuals and 120 company members, the institute's membership represent a commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards across the shipping industry.

 

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the missionto develop Singapore as a premier global hub port andinternational maritime centre (IMC), and to advance andsafeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests. MPA is the driving force behind Singapore’s port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, PortRegulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative. MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritimeancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.

 

Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF)

Established in 2004, the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) is a private sector-led organisation that seeks to develop and promote Singapore as an International Maritime Centre (IMC). As the representative voice for the commercial players of the maritime industry, SMF seeks to forge strong partnerships with the public and private sectors of the maritime industry. SMF spearheads initiatives to promote the diverse clusters of the maritime industry in Singapore and at international frontiers, and to attract young talents to join the sector. SMF is directed by its Board of Directors which comprises of prominent leaders in the Singapore maritime community.

 

Singapore Shipping Association (SSA)

The Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) represents a wide spectrum of shipping companies and otherbusinesses allied to the shipping industry. It is a national trade association formed in 1985 to serve and promotethe interests of its members and to enhance the competitiveness of Singapore as an International Maritime Centre.

 

Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA)

The Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) is an international organisation for women involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades worldwide. It is a major player in attracting more women to the industry and in supporting women in management positions. With networking, education and mentoring in focus, WISTA seeks to enhance members’ competence and empower career success. WISTA is growing and has over 3,000 members in more than 40 countries worldwide. WISTA pursues and supports the creation of both national and international business relationships among WISTA members. WISTA Singapore was established in 1998 as a non-profit organisation, providing a networking forum for female professionals involved in shipping, trading and related businesses within the maritime industry. WISTA Singapore is a national chapter of WISTA - the first to be founded in Asia - made up of women professionals working for diverse companies such as ship owners, trading houses, bunkering houses, ship brokers, chartering, ship management, insurance, finance and the law.
